Personal Statement
I studied Electronic & Electrical Engineering at
Loughborough University. I chose this course as I believe that its play an important part in our societys development
and so for future generations. I have always enjoyed learning something new and I look forward to applying these skills
in practice. I am currently training for I.T with Scheidegger to broaden my skills, as I love working with computer.
Qualifications achieved
Loughborough University, Ashby Road, Loughborough, Leicestershire, LE11 3TU
1999- 2002
BEng (hons) Electronic & Electrical Engineering.
Final result: 2.2
1st year Modules studied include: Analogue Electronics (87%), Structured Programming
(87%), Professional & Technical Development (73%), Digital Electronics (71%), Circuit Theory (70%), Introduction
to Software Engineering (66%), Mathematics (63%).
2nd year Modules studied include: Electrical Power (74%,), Electromagnetic Waves
(72%), Mathematics (62%), Electronics (61%,), Engineering Mechanics (60%), Project & Project Management
(58%).
Final year project: I was working to develop a Speed Control for a DC Motor. I have always
been fascinated by the design and the manufacture of electrical items and I like to put them to test in this project to help
me understand it more.
I was in charge of organising the activities of the project. During the activities, I felt
that as soon after we meet together every time, there is a high rate of work being done. The main reason for this is that
as each person in the group has different roles, each person can inform others of their problems and views and together we
aims to find a solution quickly as possibly. It is more important to meet together more regularly about the development of
the project. Apart from the meeting, we would use e-mail to indicate how our progress is going.
From this experience, I learnt that I am very resourceful as I can utilise different sources
of information to formulate my final solution.
CompTIA A+ Certified Professional
This course now enables me to have broad base of knowledge and competency in core hardware and
operating system technologies including installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking.
I have also undertaken number of practical training with Scheidegger.

Work Experience
Voluntary Group Leader: 28/10/03 - present
The Link Centre for Deafened People, 19, Hartfield Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex,
BN21 2AR
I do voluntary work for The Link Centre for Deafened People. I helped with setting up
a group in Leicester for people who suddenly lost their hearing. In Leicester, there was no support or guidance for people
who just lost their hearing. When they lost their hearing, their first obvious step is to see their GP. The problem
with GP, they are difficult to communicate with especially when they lost their hearing. If these people are having
trouble with coping with deafness life, they can join our social group and meet people with similar experiences. They
might even make new friends as well. My other duties involved setting up an event, doing administration work and fundraising.
Frontline Recruitment Ltd: 07/10/02 06/06/03
Tibbet & Britten Aldo: Warehouse Operator.
I was working in a team to ensure a smooth operation of moving stock in the warehouse. I
did order picking, unpacking stock and loading and unloading lorries.
I learnt the importance of working as a team as it is vital for a quick operational of moving stock
around the warehouse. I felt like a part of the company's asset.
Shoefayre: 17/07/00 25/08/00 (Similar description above)
P.S. Green & Co: 30/09/96 12/10/96
Electrician Assistant
I have completed two weeks work experience with this electrical contractor company where I worked
as an electrician assistant. My main duties included the connection of household wires such as light switches and electric
socket wires.
DELTA: present
Volunteer
Other voluntary work I do is for DELTA (Deaf Education through Listening & Talking Association).
From there, I gained experience of public talking to various employers, and parents who got deaf children of their own. It
is good for parents to meet young youths like me as we show a positive attitude to life. We do not let our deafness get in
the way as we can interact with hearing world too.
Activities and Interest
I enjoy swimming and have achieved various awards at various levels.
Other sports I enjoy and frequently take part in are Football, Cricket, Tennis and Snooker.
It is also a great chance to meet other people and gain social life.
I have a strong ability for running. I will be taking part in London Marathon 2004, as I
am raising money for DELTA, a deaf charity organisation. Also, I am a member Deaf UK Athletics (DUKA), and I am hoping
to represent Great Britain for Deaflympics in Australia 2005.
This is one of my other strength as I try to keep fit all the times because I believe it does have
an impact to work hard while studying or working.
I am still playing for an amateur cricket club called SPA. One summer, I regularly held training
for a youth club to help them develop for the senior team to help them developed for the senior side. I learnt how to organise
like arrangement for the facilities and ensure everyone is safe to come. I developed my cricketing skills from Leicestershire
County Cricket Club.
I made a website of my own and I continue to update the site regularly. The website is www.4lestaguy.com.
I like to make transport models. It helps me to understand how transports are developed.
This shows that I am quite practical with my hands.
